The village of New Inn sits in the county borough of Torfaen in southeast Wales, lying between the larger towns of Cwmbran and Pontypool. It is close to the main road network and served by Pontypool & New Inn railway station, making it a convenient commuter base for nearby centres such as Newport and Cardiff.
Originally centred on a coaching inn on routes through the Afon Llwyd valley, the settlement expanded with the growth of the South Wales industrial belt and has a mix of Victorian terraces and later housing. Today New Inn combines a quiet, village feel with local shops, pubs and sports clubs, and easy access to countryside walks and cycling routes that reflect its industrial past while serving a largely residential community.
