New Inn is a ward and village in Torfaen, Wales, sitting between Pontypool and Cwmbran on the edge of the South Wales Valleys. Its name hints at an old coaching inn and the settlement later expanded with the 19th- and 20th-century coal and iron industries typical of the area, so traces of industrial heritage sit alongside rows of traditional terraced housing.
Today it is largely residential with local shops, pubs and community facilities, and many residents commute to nearby centres such as Cwmbran, Newport and Cardiff. The ward benefits from easy access to surrounding countryside and walking routes, and retains a strong local identity through schools, clubs and community groups.
