Seaton is a compact seaside town on the mouth of the River Axe in East Devon, Devon, England, sitting on the shingle shore of the Jurassic Coast. Its low-lying estuary and adjacent Seaton Wetlands make it a notable spot for birdlife and coastal walking, and the South West Coast Path passes close by for long-distance hikers.
Historically a small fishing and harbour settlement that expanded in the Victorian era as a resort, Seaton now depends largely on tourism and retirement residents, with a mix of cafés, independent shops and seasonal events. A local highlight is the preserved narrow-gauge Seaton Tramway that runs along the estuary to Colyford and Colyton, and conservation groups such as the Devon Wildlife Trust are active in managing the wetlands and promoting wildlife interest.
