Normandy is a village and civil parish in the borough of Guildford, in Surrey, set between the towns of Guildford and Farnham. It occupies low heathland and wooded countryside at the western edge of the Surrey Hills, with tree-lined lanes, commons and pockets of ancient woodland that give it a distinctly rural character despite good road links to nearby towns.
Historically a scattering of farms and heath, the settlement grew from the late 19th century and today combines a long-standing local community - with a village hall, church, primary school and sports clubs - with a significant number of commuters working in Guildford or London. Local life is centred on modest shops, pubs and voluntary groups, while conservation areas and nearby open space attract walkers and help preserve its historic rural feel.
