Puttenham is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Guildford, in Surrey, England, a few miles west of Guildford town centre. It sits on the southern slopes of the chalk North Downs, beneath the distinctive ridge known as the Hog's Back, with Puttenham Common and open downland giving long views across the Wey Valley.
The settlement has a medieval church, attractive timber‑framed houses and a village green; the local economy is largely residential with some farming, equestrian activity and small enterprises, and many residents commute to Guildford or London. An active community calendar, village sports and easy access to footpaths such as the North Downs Way make it a sought‑after rural spot with clear historic roots and good transport links.
