Wyke is a small village on the northern edge of the borough of Guildford in Surrey, England. It retains a distinctly rural feel, set among mixed farmland, small woods and commons a few miles from the town centre, while remaining within easy commuting reach of London and other south-east employment centres.
Historically the name comes from the Old English wic, suggesting a small farm or specialised settlement, and much of the area developed from agricultural roots into a predominantly residential community. Today it is largely quiet and village‑like, with scattered cottages and modern homes, a handful of local businesses and leisure routes for walkers; social life tends to centre on local clubs and occasional village events rather than on large commercial amenities.
