Pelsall is an electoral ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Walsall in the West Midlands, sitting where the suburban ribbon of the West Midlands meets open countryside near Cannock Chase. The ward centres on a traditional village high street and the wide green of Pelsall Common, and is crossed by the historic Wyrley and Essington Canal, which provides popular walking and boating routes.
Historically the area expanded with coal mining and canal transport in the industrial era; today it is largely residential with local shops, light industry and commuters travelling to Birmingham and surrounding towns. Community life still feels village-like, with local clubs, churches and events that reflect its mixed industrial past and greener setting within the wider Walsall conurbation.
