Limpley Stoke is a small village and civil parish in Wiltshire, tucked into the valley of the River Avon close to the boundary with Bath and North East Somerset. Its setting between Bath and Bradford-on-Avon gives it a distinctly riverine and rural character, with the Kennet and Avon Canal and towpath running through the area and a scattering of historic bridges, locks and former mill buildings reflecting its industrial past.
Today the parish feels like a quiet commuter and recreational community: many residents work in nearby towns while walkers, cyclists and boaters make use of the canal and countryside. Architecturally there are attractive period cottages and a parish church alongside repurposed mill structures, and a small local social life centred on village amenities and the lanes and riverside footpaths that draw visitors to this pleasant corner of the Avon valley.
