Thornliebank is a suburb of East Renfrewshire on the south‑western fringe of Glasgow in Scotland, set along the course of the White Cart Water. It expanded in the 19th century as a mill and textile‑printing settlement, and some Victorian-era buildings and street patterns still hint at that industrial past, with pleasant green spaces nearby including Rouken Glen Park.
Today Thornliebank is primarily a residential community with good rail and road links into central Glasgow, a range of local shops, schools and community groups, and a reputation for a strong neighbourhood spirit. Much of the heavy industry has gone, but the area combines suburban tranquillity with easy access to the city and retains visible reminders of its historic economic roots.
