Bonnybridge is a small village in the council area of Falkirk in central Scotland, lying close to the Forth and Clyde Canal and within sight of remnants of the Antonine Wall and the Roman fort at Rough Castle. It expanded in the 19th century on the back of brickworks, iron foundries and other light industries, leaving an industrial heritage that still colours the townscape.
Aside from its industrial past, Bonnybridge is probably best known for a remarkable cluster of reported UFO sightings in the 1990s and 2000s that earned it an odd local fame. Today it functions largely as a residential and commuter community with local shops, sports clubs and active community groups while retaining traces of its historic character.
