Ceres in Fife, Scotland is a compact, picturesque village set in the fertile Howe of Fife, roughly between Cupar and St Andrews. It’s known for a charming village green, stone cottages and a well‑preserved market cross that give a very traditional Lowland feel amid rolling arable farmland.
The village punches above its size culturally: the annual Ceres Games, a festival of sports and community events, is said in local tradition to go back to the return of men from the Battle of Bannockburn, and the place retains a strong community spirit. Economically it’s historically agricultural with some small‑scale local services and tourism, while many residents commute to nearby towns, and the conservation of the core village keeps a lot of its historic character intact.
