The area around Leven, Kennoway and Largo sits on the east coast of Fife where the River Leven meets the Firth of Forth. It mixes sandy beaches, cliffs and estuarine frontage with farmland and small settlements, and the Fife Coastal Path runs through making it popular for walkers and day visitors to the wider Levenmouth district.
Locally the economy has roots in fishing, shipping and mining and those industries shaped much of the built heritage, while Lower Largo is best known as the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie. The ward combines traditional seaside and village life with post‑industrial communities, recent regeneration efforts and plans to improve transport links, plus a steady boost from tourism, golf and community arts projects.
