Eastfield is a small village in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, tucked into the Central Belt and framed by farmland and former industrial landscapes. It has the feel of a close-knit community rather than a busy town, with the surrounding countryside offering walks and green spaces alongside more suburban housing.
Like many settlements in the area it has roots in the coal and rail industries, and traces of that industrial past remain in local architecture and social clubs. Today the village is largely residential, with a few local shops and community facilities, and benefits from reasonable road and rail links into larger centres such as Glasgow and Edinburgh, making it a practical base for commuters while retaining a quieter, village character.
