Clydach is a village and community on the northern edge of Swansea in south Wales, set in the narrow valley of the River Clydach. It sits against rolling hills and common land, giving good access to countryside walks while remaining within easy reach of the city and the wider Swansea Valley, so it combines a semi-rural feel with commuter links.
The settlement grew up during the industrial era around coal, iron and tinplate activity, and remnants of that industrial archaeology can still be seen among more recent housing. Today Clydach is largely residential with local shops, schools and active community and sports groups, and outdoor recreation and local history are important parts of village life.
