Craig-cefn-parc is a small village on the northern fringe of Swansea in Wales, sitting where the urban edge meets the rolling uplands typical of the western valleys. Its geography gives easy access to countryside walks and elevated views, while the layout and housing still reflect the area's industrial past that shaped many South Wales communities.
Historically linked to coal and heavy industry, the village has become largely residential and commuter‑oriented, with local shops, community groups and a strong sense of local identity centred on sports and social clubs. Like many post‑industrial settlements it faces economic challenges, but grassroots projects and its rural access continue to be important to social and cultural life.
