Preston, Seton and Gosford is a compact coastal and rural ward in East Lothian, just east of Edinburgh. It covers a string of seaside villages including Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton, together with the historic Gosford House estate and the surrounding hinterland.
The area has a strong industrial and maritime past - coal, salt and fishing shaped its shores - and is best known for the 1745 Battle of Prestonpans and for community-led cultural projects such as the restored Prestoungrange arts hub. Today the ward mixes commuter suburbs and local small businesses with a lively festival and heritage scene, coastal walks and ongoing interest in redevelopment of former industrial sites like the old power station at Cockenzie.
