Llangynwyd Middle sits on the slopes above the Llynfi Valley, just north of Maesteg within Bridgend, Wales. It combines small stone-built settlements and farmland with elevated views over the valley and easy access to local footpaths and green spaces, giving it a distinctly rural feel despite being close to larger towns.
The area has a long history predating the industrial age, with a medieval church and scattered historic buildings; like much of the valley, it was shaped by 19th- and 20th-century coal mining and later shifted towards commuter living and small-scale local enterprise. Community life remains active, with village halls, cultural events and a strong local interest in preserving Welsh language and heritage alongside practical regeneration projects.
