Gullane is a small coastal village in East Lothian, Scotland, sitting on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. It’s celebrated for a long, sandy beach backed by dunes and coastal walks, popular with families, dog‑walkers and watersports enthusiasts, and lies close to the important bird habitats of Aberlady Bay.
Historically a fishing and farming community turned Victorian seaside resort, Gullane now has a local economy built around tourism, hospitality and serving commuters to Edinburgh. The village is best known in sporting terms for nearby links golf - notably Muirfield, which has hosted The Open - and is within easy reach of the historic towns of North Berwick and Dirleton, adding to its appeal for visitors.
