Treherbert sits at the upper end of the Rhondda valley within Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. Historically it grew up around deep coal mining and remains the terminus of the Rhondda rail line into Cardiff, giving it a strong transport link despite its upland, steep-sided setting.
